Si diploma in fagotto nel 1981 presso il Conservatorio
“T. Schipa” di Lecce.Per tre anni accademici consecutivi (1980/1981/1982)
frequenta il Corso Internazionale di Perfezionamento di Lanciano (CH)
vincendo la borsa di studio per la partecipazione all’Orchestra
Sinfonica Giovanile “F. Fenaroli nella quale ha ricoperto il ruolo
di I e II fagotto.
Dal 1979 al 1989 è stato I fagotto solista presso l’Orchestra
della Provincia di Lecce. Dal 1990 ad oggi svolge intensa attività
come professore d’orchestra freelance, sia come fagottista che come
controfagottista, collaborando con importanti Istituzioni orchestrali
(Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia, I.C.O. della Magna Grecia di
Taranto, Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli, Orchestra della Provincia di
Bari, Orchestra della Coop. DIMI di Roma, I.C.O. “T. Schipa”
di Lecce, Orchestra del Conservatorio di Bari, Orchestra del Conservatorio
di Lecce, Orchestra di Fiati del Conservatorio di Lecce ecc.) partecipando,
sotto la guida di prestigiosi direttori e con la collaborazione di prestigiosi
solisti, a concerti sul territorio nazionale ed europeo e alla realizzazione
di produzioni discografiche e radio-televisive.
Come strumentista in formazioni cameristiche svolge un intensa attività
concertistica con un repertorio che spazia dal ‘700 alla musica
contemporanea anche con l’uso dell’elettronica.
Dal 1981 al 1989 è stato docente di fagotto presso i Conservatori
di Reggio Calabria e Vibo Valentia. Attualmente è titolare della
cattedra di fagotto e docente nel Triennio e Biennio specialistico di
Musica Elettronica presso il Conservatorio “T. Schipa” di
Lecce del quale è stato dal 2004 all’ottobre del 2010 componente
del Consiglio Accademico. Dal 2003, presso lo stesso Istituto è
Responsabile artistico delle Attività di produzione ed e dal novembre
2010 componente del Consiglio di Amministrazione.
Ha svolto il ruolo di Tutor e coordinatore nei MASTER e CORSI DI ALTO
PERFEZIONAMENTO POST-DIPLOMA organizzati dal Conservatorio “T. Schipa”.
Dal 1995 si occupa di musica elettronica. In qualità di compositore
elettroacustico i sui brani sono eseguiti in festivals musicali specializzati
sia in Italia che all’estero. In questo campo svolge attività
in qualità di performer al live elettronics e in qualità
di sound designer, collaborando alla realizzazione di CD e DVD audio.
Ha conseguito il Diploma di Musica Elettronica con il massimo dei voti
presso il Conservatorio “N. Piccinni” di Bari.

He got a degree in bassoon in 1981 at the Academy of Music “Tito
Schipa”, in Lecce. He attended the International Course of Specialization
in Lanciano, for three consecutive years (1980/1981/1982), winning a scholarship
for his participation at the Symphony Orchestra of Youth, where he played
the I and the II bassoon. From 1979 to 1989 he played as I bassoon with
the Orchestra of the Province of Lecce. Since 1990 to the present days,
he has been a professor instrumentalist freelance as he plays both the
bassoon and the double bassoon, he works with important Orchestral Institutions
(International Italian Orchestra, I.C.O. of Magna Graecia of Taranto,
the Petruzzelli Theatre’s Orchestra, the Province of Bari’s
Orchestra, the Coop. of DIMI’s Orchestra in Rome, the I.C.O. “Tito
Schipa” of Lecce, the Academy of Music Orchestra of Bari, the Winds’
Orchestra of the Academy of Music of Lecce, etc) taking part, under prestigious
conductors’guidance and collaborating with prestigious soloists,
to concerts performed not only in Italy, but even in Europe. He also carries
out recording production, for the radio and television too. As an instrumentalist
for chamber music, he takes part to lots of concerts with a repertoire
including music of the 1700 and of contemporary music, using also the
electronics. From 1981 to 1989 he has been professor of bassoon at the
Academy of Music in Reggio Calabria and in Vibo Valentia. At present he
is full professor in bassoon at the Academy of Music ”Tito Schipa”
in “Lecce, where he had been member of the Academic Council from
2004 to October 2010. Since 2003, at the same Institute, he is Artistic
Responsible of the Production Activities and since November 2010, he is
a member of the Board of Directors. At the same Institute he is also a
professor of the three-years and two-years specialization course in Electronic
Music. He has been Tutor and coordinator at the MASTER AND COURSES OF
POST-DIPLOMA HIGH IMPROVEMENTS, organized by the Academy of Music “Tito
Schipa”. Since 1995 he is interested in Electronic Music. As an
electronic composer, his compositions have been performed in specialized
Musical Festivals in Italy and abroad. In this field he is a performer
at the live electronics and sound designer, working at the realization
of CD and DVD audio. He got a first class degree in Electronic Music at
the Academy of Music “N. Piccinni” in Bari.
